Princess has a special place in their hearts for kids aboard their ships. Nearly every ship in their fleet has a dedicated Youth and Teen Center with oceans of activities offered and supervised by professional staff. Kids cruising with Princess will find a variety of facilities where they can enjoy activities and services tailored just to them. Children get their very own TV programs, menus and on some ships, kids even have their own pool, Jacuzzi and deck area reserved just for them!
The Princess Kids Program features fun and informative special events with onboard guests; kids can go stargazing with an expert astronomer or draw with a famous animator. Teens can also take advantage of Princess' Teen Spa Program, featuring an exclusive selection of specialized spa packages designed especially for younger children.
Raves on the Waves
Princess Pelicans, ages 3-7, and Princess Pirateers, ages 8-12, are entertained with non-stop activities such as: arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, sports tournaments, galley tours, backstage tours, bridge tours, ice cream parties, disco nights, videos and cartoons. Off Limits, designed for teens ages 13 to 17, offers a wide range of activities such as: dinner events and disco parties for 'Teens-only', shipboard Olympics, t-shirt painting and basketball tournaments. Group babysitting for children ages 3 to 12 years is offered on select ships for a nominal fee. Please note that there is no private babysitting available onboard any Princess vessel.
In addition to providing new, specifically tailored activities for three age groups as well as complimentary in-port programming and lunch service, Princess Kids also includes unique learning opportunities for all children through an exclusive partnership with the California Science Center and the use of award-winning educational materials provided by the National Wildlife Federation.
California Science Center & National Wildlife Federation
In a cruise industry exclusive, the California Science Center, a respected Los Angeles institution provides educators and entertaining hands-on activities for children aboard Princess' ships. Science Center staff will enthrall young passengers with award-winning science programs geared toward their particular ship's destination. In Alaska, the Junior Youth Program is designed to bring Glacier Bay and the Alaska wilderness to life for thousands of children. This makes for a perfect fit for a cruise line that takes more passengers to Glacier Bay than any other cruise line.
In addition, Princess youth staff will use fun and educational activities provided by the National Wildlife Federation to engage kids in learning about the wonders of wildlife and their habitats. The activities are designed to connect young people with the natural world and foster awareness and stewardship of their environment. Let your kids learn from the nation's largest conservation education organization inspiring people to protect nature, wildlife and the world we share.
Junior Ranger Program
An integral part of the line's comprehensive Youth Program is the Junior Ranger Program. Designed to bring Glacier Bay and the Alaska wilderness to life for thousands of children, the Junior Ranger program features interactive games, activity books and presentations by rangers. The program has been so well received by the young passengers that Princess has expanded the program with an Explorer program specifically for teens.
